“Functioning” (a work in-progress excerpt) explores the concept of stream of consciousness, and how memories and bouts of extreme lucidity play into it.

    Abigail is a San Francisco-based artist, teacher, choreographer, arts-administrator, and above all, a lover of people. Her approach to life (and dance) focuses on cultivating joy, uplifting the community, and interconnecting dance and humanity. Abigail received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of South Florida, then relocated to the Bay Area to continue her career in dance. She currently teaches youth and adults in hip-hop and contemporary styles at ODC, Mobu Dance, City Dance, and Rae Studios. Since moving to California, Abigail has had the privilege of dancing for local companies and friends including Robert Moses Kin, Margaret Jenkins, Kinetech Arts, Seymour Dance Collective, Dragons Dance/Erin Yen, Erin Coyne, Carolina Czechowza & Jamie-Lynn (Collective Attention), Erik Wagner, Tracey Lindsay Chan, 90 and many others.

    Creator. Performer. Movement Artist. Bodyworker. Derek embraces dance as a medium that can recontextualize how we take up space in the world.  Drawn to moments of transformation, he is preoccupied with creating environments where the multiplicity of being can be revealed. As a performer, he effortlessly interweaves moments of full-bodied abandon with delicate tenderness and emotional authenticity. Derek is a founding member of Hypothetical Circus, and has performed with LEIMAY Ensemble (New York), Human Shakes, Epiphany Dance Theater, and Erik Wagner, among others.

  • Erin Yen

    she/they, @dragonsbreathefiire

    Erin is a mixed-race professional dancer and choreographer currently residing in San Mateo, CA. Since moving to the Bay Area to be closer to extended family, Erin has had the privilege of performing at events such as Margaret Jenkin’s 50th Anniversary Show and Trolley Dances SF, and at venues including Dance Mission Theater, Oakland Theater Project, CounterPulse, and the Green Room. Erin’s choreography has been featured at the FACT/SF Summer Dance Festival, ODC’s State of Play, ODC Pilot Program 73, RAWdance’s Concept Series, SAFEhouse, and Levy Salon. Erin is the founder of contemporary dance company Dragons Dance, 501c3.
